Project aimed for transport efficiency

Oryx Simulations is together with Volvo Technology Corporation (VTEC), Volvo 3P, Umeå Institute of Design, Vinnova and FFI (Fordonsstrategisk Forskning och Innovation) participating in the project "Safe and efficient transport - SET no.1".

SET´s kick-off was held in February 2010 and has a duration of 36 month. This project aims to develop concepts for increased transport efficiency. The two key-issues in this project are:

Fuel efficient driving 
The key objective is to develop holistic ECO-driving concepts covering HMI-development, human behaviour and business related factors for successful performance of the ECO-driving systems of the future, aiming at 2020. In addition, we will also develop concepts how to communicate ECO-driving to the surrounding traffic.

Efficiency and safety when loading/unloading goods
Loading and unloading cargo include several critical moments that affect the driver and other people, as well as damages on goods and vehicles. Trends for longer vehicles combinations emphasize the need to develop concepts that can solve critical safety and efficiency issues in these situations.
