HSS Knuckle Boom Crane
HSS Knuckle Boom Crane
Overview
In cooperation with Hamn & Stuveriskolan and TYA, the Vocational Training and Working Environment Council,
we have developed the Knuckl
e boom crane simulator.
The operator learns how to maneuver a knuckle boom crane in a safe and efficient manner. There are many reasons why you should use a simulator for operator training, read more about them here.
Training program
The training program is developed in cooperation with TYA and Hamn och Stuveriskolan.
The software takes you from basic maneuvering, to more difficult loading/unloading exercises.
Training package
- Maneuvering beginner. Following a path.
- Maneuvering advanced. Following an advanced path.
- Liner. Load a ship with liner rolls.
- Sorting. Sorting logs.
- Loading. Load the timber truck with logs.
Administration and evaluation
The simulation software also includes a user manager. In the user manager new operators can be added with a personal username and password.
When the operator is training, certain data is collected for evaluation. The instructor can follow the operator's progress and evaluate the performance based on key factors presented by the software, for example:
- Simultaneous used functions
- Collisions (goods, crane)
- Mistakes
Hardware setup

The HSS Knuckle boom simulator is designed for the schools. Real-life crane controls and operator seat are fitted into a compact chassis. The simulation is visualized on a crystal clear LED-screen mounted on the chassis. This makes the simulator very space-saving and outstanding graphics.
The simulator is also easy to move, since the chassis is wheeled.
Following items are included:
- 46" LED-screen
- Compact, wheeled simulator chassis
- Simulation computer
- Simulation software with commercial license
- Keyboard and mouse
- Speaker system
- Real-life crane joysticks and operator seat
