In cooperation with Volvo Construction Equipment we proudly present the Volvo Wheel loader simulator. Designed for the
schools, offering high training value and high mobility. For beginners the simulator is invaluable, but it is also an excellent
tool to sharpen and optimizing the skills of experienced ones. 

The Volvo simulator uses controls, levers and seat from the real wheel loader, creating a more authentic experience.
The advanced real-time simulation is based on a Volvo L120F wheel loader and imaged on a large LED-screen in
front of the operator. An electric motion platform recreates all movements that are simulated. The Volvo simulator is

The training is focused in learning the skills and safety manners that a wheel loader operator need to know.
The simulation software is currently available for the Volvo L120F wheel loader. 

A step-by-step training program, developed in cooperation with experienced instructors, ensures that the operators learn the right skills - the right way.

Before even operating the simulator, the operator needs to know basic machine knowledge, such as the machines different components and service check-points. In machine handling exercises the operator learns how to use functions simultaneous, moving and placing the machine and connecting attachments.
When the basic exercises are done, the operator will face real working tasks. Step-by-step, the operator learns how to execute a specific task, including safety and risk issues that can occur. It could be learning the skills and risks related to e.g. loading stones or unloading a truck in a city environment.
All exercises are developed to focus in skills and safety, which is why each session offers different safety manners. There is also specific exercises for risk management where the operator deals with moments and situations with high risk, such as loading the machine onto a low-boy trailer. 

Evaluation 
The students are prompted to login when using the simulator, enabling a powerful evaluation module. During all training, extensive data are gathered (e.g. fuel consumption, wear and tear, collisions, mistakes) to help the instructor in the work of evaluation. An incorrect behavior can easily be identified and corrected, in an early stage of the training.

In order to raising the experience even further, the Volvo wheel loader simulator is built on Volvo original components. Sitting in a real operator seat, using the controls from a real L120F is important for the authentic feeling as well as the result of the training. Of course the simulator also has the Volvo characteristic a-pillar, with all function buttons. 

One more key feature of the wheel loader simulator is the motion platform and the capabilities to recreate reality. A machine operator uses most of the senses in his daily work. The “feeling” is crucial for the job, especially as a warning signal for dangerous situations. So why skip one of the important senses in training, when you can recreate the “feeling”?  

The advanced 3D-graphics is visualized in high definition on a large crystal clear LED-screen, making the training even more immersive. The screen is also very bright, meaning that it is not that sensitive to day-light and is very space-saving comparing to a projector and screen.
